The Creature Reviews My Weekend

So Saturday, I was out all day, and the Creature wanted an explanation.

I told him that in the morning I had my screenwriters group, like I often do. So he accepted that. Then I explained that in the afternoon, after I’d picked up my mail at the PO Box, I went to a screening of Silver Bells, since it had been written by my friend Andrea Nasfel. I assured him it was a fine movie, and the time with friends was great. He was okay with that.

What he really wanted to know was this stuff I returned with.

So I explained that my friend Vicky Morris had gotten the book signed by the author for me, and she gave it to me when I met her family for dinner. He said that didn’t explain the stones and the bit if Irish Spring. “It’s a white and green stone, not a bit of soap,” I said. But he was kind of grumpy. So I pointed out the name on the bag for the polished stones.  The butterfly pendant I got just because I liked it.

The truth is, he just felt left out of the adventure.

So yesterday afternoon, I assisted my hostess, Barbara, in doing some holiday decorating. The Creature had to check out our efforts. I could see he wanted to grump about it, but he ended up approving it all.

About Sarah Beach

Now residing in Las Vegas, I was born in Michigan and moved to Texas when 16. After getting my Masters degree in English, I moved to Hollywood, because of the high demand for Medievalists (NOT!). As a freelance writer and editor, I find that Nevada offers better conditions for the wallet. I love writing all sorts of things, and occasionally also create some artwork.
