I had originally intended to go only on Saturday, but because my knees were tired, I didn't stay as long as I'd meant to that day.  On the other hand, I got to spend some time chatting with my friend James A. Owen after he finished his signing.  He had to wait for a friend to come by and pick up some prints, so we killed some time talking.  I then gave him a lift from the top of the hill on the UCLA campus down to the parking garage where he'd left his car.... way down in Westwood.  It's nice to be able to do a favor for a friend.

Sunday I returned and checked out some areas that I'd skipped on Saturday, particularly the comic book area.  Picked up a few things, including the first volumes of Eric Shanower's adaptation of the Trojan War.  And since he was actually in the booth when I made the purchase, I got them autographed!

I also had some good chats with other writers at various points along the way.  But I do need to brush up my skills at working events like this.
